I prefer zipper for showing, pull on for hacking and schooling. Zippered on the side flattens the look of the tummy. In the summer my daughter prefers kerrits, the lightweight easy dry ones, winter a breech, and she likes front zip. Posted via Mobile Device
Riding tights are exactly what they seem. They fit like tights. Breeches have more of a "pants-type" structure to them and have a zipper, either front or side zip.
I personally prefer breeches. Some styles I like a side zip while others I am ok with a front zip.
For schooling or for shows? With the h/j or dressage shows, for all but the most casual of schooling shows tights aren't quite dressy enough. Tights are generally for schooling. I have a few pairs of tights and they are very comfortable! Like walking around in PJs! But I still prefer zippers. Side zips for the most part but most of my summer schooling breeches are front zips.
