Question Does Anyone Show Fjords?

Hello, I was just wondering if anyone on the forum has any experience/knowledge with showing Fjords??

They are my 2nd favorite breed (TB's being my first) & I just bought a 10-yr-old mare this month. I have a vet app booked for her to determine whether she is in fact registered, but does anyone have anything to say towards perhaps getting into the Fjord showing circuit if possible/not with my Bella than perhaps with a foal of hers later on in the future?
Thanks to anyone with imput!

Is there even a strictly Fjord show circuit like Arabians have? If so I'd like to get in on that

Think i'll have to bump it up!
Don't know how many people on here even have Fjords lol.
I know there are several breeding farms in AB & many have stallions that have shown, but I don't know where or how.
Maybe i'll have to contact one if I can't find some advice...

I work in the therapeutic riding industry and have experience with working with Fjords in this industry. Several of the barns in the area have Fjords for both riding and driving. We work with people of all ages who have special needs as far as showing I do know there are small draft competitions and driving competitions. I don't know about where you live though. I would definitely look for small draft breed show circuits. Try the Northeast Fjord Horse Association 2010 Fjord Show - Northeast Fjord Horse Association or Feild of Dreams Norwegian FjordsWelcome to Field of Dreams Norwegian Fjord Horses!

My old coach is big on fjords, as for showing, theres not too much around here in nova scotia to do with fjords. She does take them to local shows and around the maritimes, and does dressage & driving demonstrations and musical rides at things like "can-am" (not sure if that's a maritime thing only, or if you guys are familiar with it) and they do extremely well for themselves.

Congrats on your new Fjord!! :) Besides Quarter horses, Fjords and Haffies are my favorite top two breeds. I'd love to get one!! Hope you will share lots of photos of your fjord.

I showed Haffies for three years as a groom, I don't think you'll find to many Fjord only classes or shows, but there usually is draft pony classes, depending on the judge you could do well (some like light driving ponies). I show in Nova scotia, but I figure it is much different in the local exhibitons and shows. Look out for the draft shows they usually have a pony class including draft pony under saddle, and in hand. Maybe if you have a local arena (or place where the hold exhibtions or shows) they can tell when these type of shows are going on. Good luck and at least you don't have to braid manes!

Sadly I have to say braiding long thick manes (2 to 8 of them) was not fun, talk about raw fingers!
