Yeah that always ruins it. We have really run into that around here with a person but its quite a long story. Lets just say they don't want to both training/working with their horses so they cheat to win. Oh and i did find that picture! Though i will say i was trying something that year because the guy who basicly has taught me everything i know was like try just going pleasure(since you can do that with haffies) and i didn't want to put scotches on her. So i showed her english pleasure so i'm not in ideal for but i love this picture lol : P
I do believe the girl on the far left got second. She's my good friend and uber good at showmanship!

HOLY CRAP! haha you look tiny compared to them! that's cute though. I like it a lot! I was trying to look up some good pics of my horse and I but I have so many pics on my computer it's started to be dumb about it. Oh well haha.

To rein a horse is not only to guide him,
but also to control his every movement.

I started the showmanship/halter training of my filly at week one after she was born. It was just part of the regular handling. When I led her I would always stand on the both sides with equal amount of time. I would stop, walk around her and make her stand still. After about a month we started to square her up during the leading lesson. We would walk about 4 or 5 steps, stop, square her up, stand then do it again. She knew how to stand for me walking around her head as if I was in a halter class and how to stand square before she was a year old. She took her first blue ribbon before she was one in an in-hand trail/halter class. She is 6 this year and will still square up when asked.
