Needing tips for yearling halter/showmanship
I've got a yearling I am starting out this year. This particular yearling has a very bad case of "happy feet" I had him at equine affair this spring with our breed club and he was in the ring for presentation. He does EXCELLENT at home.. stands still. Pivots.. trots off. And I work him daily.. even if just for a quick 10 minutes.
Equine affair was a different story! I know its a lot of NEW things but I've personally never shown such a young horse. I usually don't bring them out until they are 3 + and have never had to encounter these issues. Should I be taking him to local shows just for experience but don't enter him. Walk him around grounds?
