biggest class we've ever done!
Yesterday, Chet and I went to a schooling show to move up a division. We got there and did a schooling round in the division we usually show in (3'6-3'9/1.10m-1.15m) and Chet was a kind of a jerk and was just being fussy and acting like complete pony, because he'd been standing around for a few hours while my sister was showing. He was being such a dog and wasn't going forward off my leg and he kept pulling and when I'd let go of his face to stop him from pulling he'd get mad that I wasn't fighting him and stop going forward so because of all of that I was really worried to do the bigger division, not that the height was really an issue because we jump higher than that at home, it was just the thought of it all and I didn't want it to go horribly wrong in public or for our first time in a big class to be bad and mess up our confidence. Anyway, we went back to the schooling area and jumped around a bit more and my trainer put the jumps up more than we needed (around 4'3/1.30m) and that seemed to make Chet realize we meant business. After that he was fabulous and we went in the modified jumpers (3'9-4'0/1.15-1.22) and it was awesome! I was so happy with him and didn't care that he'd been such a jerk before. We ended up winning the class, granted it was a small show and there were hardly any other people in our class. It was such a good start and I'm so happy that we've been able to move up so quickly. I don't know where I'd be without a horse like Chet!
