    Daughters first big show

I need help! My daughter qualified for the State SC horse show labor day weekend in the leadline class. I've already picked out or matching getup, but had a few questions.

The first is how importAnt is saddle fit in the leadline classes? I have seen a comment about leadline kids riding their small ponys in oversized youth saddles. This is my daughter. With budget restraints, is this a make it or break it type deal?

Next, I've seen kids riding both two handed, and have seen them ride one handed weatern pleasure style. Is this purley choice, or is one better than the other?

Lastly, I've heard that they ask the kids questions sometimes, what can I tell her instructor to focus on to get ready in the next few weeks? I know posting, legs and the like, but as far as the judge asking her questions about horses?

Im so nervous! Any tips or tricks anyone can give me will be much appreciated!

There will probably be an answer to a lot of that in the show's rulebook.

Thanks for ypur advice, but I already looked there. All it states I'm ponies 52" and under, English or Western attire, and rider and pony to be judged only.

What I remember of leadline class is that the rider should be sitting and riding just as if they were not connected. No holding on to the horn, no slouching, smile, etc. Usually the judge will just be casual and ask the rider the horses name and such. Some judged might even ask things like what style are you riding, but not usually.

Don't worry and have fun. As a mom to a daughter who is showing as well, I think we get more nervous then the kids do. :)
