Exclamation First show REALLY soon, tricks, tips, adive, help!

My first show is in 20 days, it's a schooling show. All english classes, & showmanship. I need to buy clippers still, but I have pretty much everything else as far as clothes and tack. Any tips for riding, what to expect, anything? I entered in Maiden Rider walk-trot bridle path hack, Green pony bridle path hack, & novice rider bridle path hack. What are the judges looking for? Also what the heck do I need to use for a top as far as schooling shows go? I have a hunt coat for 4-H shows later this season, but I don't want to use it for schooling shows. What do I use? Also my horse is going to crazy.. so how do I make my "holding-on-to-my-buns " less visible? It will be both my horse & I's first show. ANY advice for shows in general, I need help with EVERYTHING, What the heck is bridle path hack? Ohhh dear...

Hi, welcome to the forum. Sorry never heard of bridle path hack class, but I will assume it's a hack class, so it's a flat hat class. Judges are looking for good riding, a horse that listens, and good horsemanship & ring manners eg, no cutting off others etc. Tips, well, get your clipped at least a week before the show so any clipper tracks & mistakes will have time to soften up. Make sure all your tack is super clean, as well as the rest of your turnout. Your huntcoat is just fine for a schooling show, you will everyone else wearing one too. Make yourself a list of all the stuff you need to take with you and go through it just before you leave so you don't forget anything. Relax and enjoy showing your horse, it's supposed to fun! Good luck!
