HEHE, Here's a laugh... My first show

At my first horse show I was riding Callie, A Quarab mare. Now you have to understand that this was also her first show, pluss she likes to GO! Well I was showing her in a hunter class. lol. Well as we cantered over the first jump I lost my insde stirrup (I didn't have my heels down). But I was fine, because my ballence on a horse is pretty darn good, as you will soon find out. Going over the second jump was good, but she wanted to gallop over the other two jumps, so I continually half-holded her... which usualy worked, but instead she gave a big buck! Hehe... Well I wasn't expecting it because at the time in my lessons shehad never bucked before. Therefore... I lost my other stirrup, AND the reigns. Well, Callie likes to jump, so automatically she headed for the next jump (there were only 4 @ about 18in... it was only my first show.) Well trying to push her away with my legs(which I still hadn't mastered yet, I wasn't squeezing with my knees) Well when she went ove the jump I flew foward, but catching myself I righted myself on.... her neck. Well she's still not stopping and she hurls herself over the last jump, but she dosn't stop.lol. Instead she runs tward the 5ft fence, well seing as I was on her neck and at the time had only jumped 2ft I was ALMOST in that freakout mode. Well turns out she was to lazy to jump it and desides to run into it instead. lol. well, I dont know how but I got back into the saddle and got hold of her reigns, and finally got her under control. And guess what... sense I didn'tfall off we got 6'th place!=) HEHE! lol
Meg

sorry for the story being so long, as you can see I like to add detail... lol
