I've come across recently, that my gelding threw a shoe two days before a show, and while his foot was spared, having only one flare blow out, and the shoe was okay too (only 3 weeks on) I wanted to put a boot on it to compete and earn more points to my end of the year place, but I was told by several people that they do not allow them in the show rings, why would this be?
Do they not serve the same purpose as a metal shoe?
I have heard for traditional purposes, but I'm not convinced.
Thanks!!
