How do I start showing and competing?

Ok well i'm 14 and live in England and have been riding for 4 years and I know that I am good enough to compete but I just need to get a bit better, I can do things like cantering, trotting, and walking and jumping, and simple shapes like 20m circle, demi volt, figure of 8, etc. I've just been told I need to practice being firmer when doing transistions and being on horses that like bolting towards the gate.

The problem is the riding school I go to now isn't a Pony Club centre, and im pretty sure the only competitions they have are like inter-school ones.

I don't have my own horse, but I know I really want to compete and get to a high standard, but I don't know what to do.

What should I do or should I just stick to riding for fun now?

Find a barn that offeres showing for horses you take lessons on? Or become a working student in exchange for showing horses

Showing can be a ton of fun! Go for it! Sounds like you have to find a place and a trainer to take you to shows.

Could you ask your current trainer if she could take you to some shows?
