Could someone explain the routine of a hunter in-hand class? That is my final in one of my classes and I missed the day we went over it.
Is it just come out, stop and set up, let the judge walk around and look at the horse, walk off, walk a small triangle of cones, get back to where you started, then trot a larger triangle of cones? Do you have to stop when you are finished or after you are done trotting, are you done?
What are the specifics? Should the horse be a certain distance from the handler? Should the handler be at a certain place at the horse? Are verbal cues allowed? Besides overall appearance and execution, is there anything that is being looked for in the handler?
