Yesterday was my first "real" show. I did one walk/trot class last April, but it was on a crappy horse with a hack trainer who actually didn't even teach or help my riding improve, rather she just took my money and told me I looked great......enough said. As many of you know, I have serious balance issues from a car accident and brain injury almost 8 years ago. I just started riding a new horse last Saturday, and had a hard fall on Wednesday. I knew if I didn't show now, I probably never would. I entered 4 classes, all beginner type stuff, and was beyond nervous. This is how things went...
4th out of 8 in beginner w/t eq
4th out of 8 in beginner w/t pleasure
8th out of 19 in walk halt advanced beginner
11th out of 25 in w/t advanced beginner
I was so happy that I finally conquered my fears after 29 years. Just wanted to share with everyone.
