Open Hunter Model

If I wanted to show my horse in the class 'Open Hunter Model', would it be acceptable for me to wear my English riding attire and to use a leather halter with plain colored nylon lead rope?

In hunter in hand classes it is more common to show in a bridle rather than a halter.
