Schooling Show Advice!?!?!

Hey so last year I did one actual big show, but this year I'm really going to start showing more. My barn has like a boarder program with instructors for those who board, lease, etc and they're like not even connected to our part which is like the lesson programs. So the lesson program is having a schooling show in 2 weeks for the beginners (mostly little kids) to have fun and for me and my friends to get ready to do some legit showing this summer (WOOOHOOO!) Anyway I'm kinda nervous, and I really want to do well because, well, I'm super competitive and even though they are my friends, I want to beat them. Don't worry I'm NOT going to push myself, and def not my horse, too far and if my best isn't good enough to win then I'm good with that. Okay sorry (rambling again...) basically what I want to know is does anyone have any advice for me??? I'll take any right now!!! THANKS!

My advice: Don't spend so much time on the little things that you forget to have fun! You can always practice your braiding/banding/hoofblack/clipping/etc. more before the big shows, so don't stress now! Make sure you're clean and neat, and go out there to do your best, and congratulate your friends if they beat you!

Be immaculately clean, both you and your horse. Have clean and polished tack and a super well groomed horse. Then, just go and do your best. Relax and have fun.
