    Show help....eeeeek hehe

Okay after talking to my boss at work, I got Labor Day off......sooooooo there is a horse show going on and alot of the people at the stables are bringing their horses there to show and I thought it would be awesome to bring Sonny and show him in a couple classes.

But I don't know what class(s) to enter him in...not 100% sure if I should since I've had no time to practice at all...
Here are the different shows.....The ones in bold I CANNOT do (meaning I wouldn't be able to enter due to my age, or Sonny's page) or ones that I don't want to enter

    1. Leadline- 8 yrs and under
2.) Model western horse in hand- horses 2 yrs and younger
3.) Model western gelding in hand
4.) Model western mare in hand
5.) Model western pony in hand
    6.) Fitting and showmanship-13 and under w/t
    7.) Fitting and showmanship- 14-17 w/t
    8.) Fitting and showmanship-Adults w/t
    9.) Western equitation-13 and under w/t
    10.) Western equitation- 14 and over w/t
    11.) western equitation- 9-17 yrs w/t/c
    12.) western equitation- adult w/t/c
    13.) Western Pleasure- 13 and under w/t
    14.) Western Pleasure- 14 and over w/t
    15.) Western Pleasure- 9-17 yrs w/t/c
    16.) Western Pleasure-Adult w/t/c
    17.) Obedience- all ages w/t
    18.) Obedience- 9-17 yrs w/t/c
    19.) Obedience- Adult w/t/c
20.) Open western stakes- all ages
21.) Open western road hack- all ages
22.) Open western horsemanship- all ages
23.) open pairs- all ages, enter with partner
24.) walk/ trot pairs- all ages, enter with partner
25.) Western pleasure futirity class- horses 5 years and younger
26.) Owner to ride- Pleasure w/t/c
    27.) Bareback equitation- w/t/c
    28.) Bareback pleasure-w/t/c
    29.) Bareback obedience-w/t/c
    30.) sit a buck-w/t/c

    I can't do anything with a canter since Sonny's canter isn't western....it's fasssssst.

    Any ideas?
He knows neckreining fairly well and I have a western bit that I can use....along with split reins and a western bridle and a western saddle. I have show chaps and I'd just need a show shirt which my BO said she has.

    Helppppp

Hmmmm... I'm not sure if your exactly ready for this show...

But there is no problem in entering a class or two and seeing what its all about !

You say your horse canters much too fast.. I WOULD NOT enter the pleasure horse - as they are looking for exactly that ; pleasure to ride ;)

Model western gelding in hand would be definitely a good place to start providing your horse Sonny leads well.

Western Equitation would also be a good one to do, as long as you have a steady seat, and have control of your horse, you should do well!

Unfortunately nearly all classes require cantering apart from lead... Now and then you might get lucky with a judge who doesn't want a canter...

Otherwise, if he can't canter then I would just take him in the led event.

    Hope this helps!
