Show names?

I am purchasing a jet black 4 year old standardbred on the 27th if things go well (she slipped on ice and was sore last time I saw her) so after a vet check and some healing time we wi be going back and if she's better she will be mine. Anyway she is not broke to ride, she's fresh off the track, and I won't even be thinking of showing for quite some time, I was just wondering how you come up with a show name? Does is have to be the same as her registered name? Her registered name doesn't appeal to me a bit (Gords girl), and I will be giving her a new barn name. But when you decide to show can you choose a show name, or will she have to go by gords girl forever? Thanks!

You can call her whatever you want for a show name. My daughter uses the registered names of her horses when she shows. I love her new horses registered name. Hoo Za Hottie

Changing the barn name isn't as easy as just changing it. The horse often recognizes it's name. Let's hope it is sound.
