What in hand class??!!

I've had my 10yo Thoroughbred for a little over a month and I'm looking to take him in hand before I have a go at ridden classes just to get him used to the atmosphere. He wasn't bred for racing and was basically a field ornament before I got him, so I've had to re break him. Can anyone suggest what classes he would be best suited to? Thanks!

It's really hard to tell you anything without more information, such as pictures, videos of movement, and the type of shows you want to go to.
