What to take to the show with me?

We'll be heading to our first show next month (English Eq schooling show). I haven't shown in many years, sold off my tack trunk and everything with it when I went to college over 20 years ago...hubby is building me a new trunk, and a box to take to shows. What all should I take with me?

FYI, I lease my mare, and she's grey. I'll be showing in a dressage saddle.

first off GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN! I hope you get lots of pictures to show us!

I would bring for your horse:

all your grooming supplies and show sheen
a cooler to keep warm (if your in the US) when wiating for classes
lots of clean rags to have someone wipe your horses nose and legs off and boots off after warm and right before going into the show ring

Hoof polish, you will want to put it on about 5-10 minutes beofre you start riding

bring water buckets, a hay bag so your horse can have somthing to munch on during the break and waiting.

For you:
extra clothes to wear over your show clothes till when you get on
gloves and hair net!

Take your hubby. His help will be invaluable. And don't stuff him in the trunk! lol.

Thanks Klassic Superstar - I hadnt even thought of bringing her fleece quarter sheet to keep her warm between classes! And I'm pretty close to Seattle as well...so I'm sure its going to be a damp day. What should I bring to wear over my show clothes? I'm going to be wearing tan breeches, a black turtleneck sweater and black thin down jacket (I havent bought my show coat yet, wont till we start dressage testing this spring)

Should I braid her mane? I think there's a lady at my barn that I can hire to do for me...or since its a schooling show does it matter?

Oh gosh a hairnet...I havent even figured out how I am going to get my hair up. It's past the middle of my back! Perhaps a bun and cover?
