First thing I've decided to do is write a story. This time I'm committing to it, and I'm going to finish it XD. These names are from Finland by the way :). Criticism is welcome :)
Heli (pronounced He-lee) gazed across the plains. Everything was flat, perfect and soft. The grass was long and good after the wet season. She raised her eyes to the mountains on the horizon before turning around.
The sun baked her bare shoulders, since she was in a two piece swimsuit. She jogged down the hill to a clearing with a pond. She spotted her cousin where she was hiding behind a bush.
"Nice try Satu! I can see you!" Heli called.
"Arg!" Satu grunted. She came out of her hiding spot and pulled her waist length hair into a ponytail.
"Your hair is such a nice colour," said Heli, gazing at her cousin's straight, black hair.
"I like yours more," Satu said.
Heli pulled her golden blonde hair into a ponytail as well. It was the same length as her cousin's.
The girls were more sisters than cousins. They were born only a few months apart, with Satu being the oldest. They had lived together and grown up on Heli's uncle's horse farm. They were unbelievably close and loved each other very much.
"We should head back, it's getting late," Satu said. "Yeah.." Heli replied.
The girls pulled on shorts and t-shirts, and put on old and battered white cowboy hats. They each grabbed a black western saddle and walked to the treeline.
Their horses were picketed in the shade, and they were almost identical greys. They were brothers as well. Besides the greys, the girls had two chestnut geldings, also almost identical.
Satu walked to her stallion, named Comet, and Heli got her gelding, called Magic. They saddled and headed for home. They would be there in 15 minutes if they hurried, and they did, because they did not want to be caught up in the dark.
