Healing Horses

I've been doing equine assisted psychotherapy, and it's been really helpful to me. I wrote this poem:

Healing Horses

Perceptive beings who . . .

. . . read my heart and understand my soul,
. . . discern what Iím feeling and what I need,
. . . understand my fears, my apprehension, my pain,
. . . communicate spirit to spirit,
. . . are patient with me as I learn,
. . . listen without judgment,
. . . easily trust me,
. . . know me, at times, better than I know myself,
. . . help me relate, achieve, and understand,
. . . teach me about myself, the world, and people,
. . . build my confidence, and renew my resolve,
. . . facilitate introspection, learning, and progress,
. . . teach me about my intuition and how to trust it,
. . . live in the moment and remind me of the simple things.

Lovingly they share their hearts with me.

Lovely poem. You described the relationship between horse and rider (particularly one that is healing) so well. <3

All very true - awesome poem!

A horse is a mirror to your soul. And sometimes you may not like what you see. - Buck Brannaman
