The joys of a horse- a poem

So this is my first shot at a horse poem, it may not be the best poem but its good for me. This was inspired by a friends poem entitled "just a horse"

A smooth warm coat against your skin
The familiar, inviting smell
A soft shoulder to rest your head on and in the most, inviting sweet smell
Undying, judgement free love and loyalty and the truest of friendships
An unbreakable bond, an unspoken promise
The indescribable feelings of flying without wings
A hug that can ward off the darkest of storms
A carrot being muzzled from your hand by velvet lips
The power of a whole hearted canter
Smiles and laughter brought on by unmatchable memories
The satisfaction of met goals, of personal triumphs
The moment of connection when you stop being two and start being one
Moments of sheer, uncontainable bliss
Moments in which you want to live forever
These are the joys of a horse.

Love your poem - may I use it

I LOVE this poem and would like to use it in an art piece I am making to donate to a silent auction raising money for an organization that does equine assisted therapy.

May I use it?

Of course - I will put "Samstead" and this URL on the back. Let me know if you want it to say something else.

Nope that's fine!

Equestrianism; 10% luck, 20% skill, 15% concentrated power of will, 5% pleasure, 50% pain and 100% reason to remember you're absolutely insane to be riding a beast that big.
