I didn't know where to post this so I'm posting here!
This is my story of: Learning how to ride a horse....upside down!
I was in fourth grade, in 2004. I was on this gray-blue appaloosa mare, Nikki. Our 4-H class had finished warming up and we were working on loping. My ex-friend's brother, sorry about that, cinched Nikki up for me because I wasn't strong enough to do it myself I guess. Anyways, we were loping. I felt my saddle slipping so I tried to shift it over and....WHOOSH! I went under. My feet were stuck in the stirrups!!!
I squeezed with my legs and tried to reach for my reins. Yep, Nikki was still loping. I managed to grasp her breastcollar and I heaved shouting, "Whoa!" Nikki stopped with a skid and PLOP went me in my saddle! I cried and cried, I was so scared.
Since then, I have never let another person touch my cinch and latigo! That just reminded me that COWGIRLS have velcro on their pockets! lol. Wow, and that's not even close to the first time I've fallen or been bucked off!!!
Hehe,
