Talking Series Idea Help

I'm writing a series, but getting a few ideas before I start on the rest of my books. I've decided to add a little mystery! The basis is about girls riding. Well in one of the books they visit one of their aunt's farm in a coastal town. Someone is causing trouble in the town, but nothing so severe that the girls couldn't solve it or help police in the investigation; kinda like nancy drew style. Any ideas on what trouble could come up?

Horses could be going missing left, right and centre, then their aunt's award winning clydesdale stallion goes missing, so the girls feel it is their duty to try and help their beloved aunt get her horse back. No one has any idea where all the horses are going, but suddenly, some familiar looking horses are turning up on the most famous horse shows in the world...
