1999/2000 Saddle King Saddle

I would love for someone to give me an idea of what this saddle might be worth. It was purchased in 1999 or 2000 from Saddle King in Waco, Texas (now Ozark). It has never been on a horse. It appears from a measurement picture to have FQHB (they don't know but the gullet is about 7 1/2" at least). Your expert opinions would be greatly appreciated!!!

I am thinking about buying it and realize that it's lower end but supposedly not horrible. I hope that it being a bit older will provide a bit better quality than what they are currently putting out. They are asking $350.00 for all of it including the saddle stand, breast collar, rope cinch, rear cinch, bridle, bit, reins, etc.

I don't plan on using it for anything except riding around my pasture and neighborhood at this point.

Any input would be appreciated.

For the price it's hard to go wrong. I am guessing it was around $600 new. I say that based on a local tack store that went out of business and their Saddle Kings were in the $600 price range and I happened to get one for $300. I was really thrilled. You can't hardly get cheap imports at that price.

Saddle King isn't the BEST saddle out there, but at least they are American made and American leather.

I actually own two. Never thought I would own a Saddle King (I thought they were below the quality I wanted) and now I have two! I never would have dreamed, lol! One I have is roping saddle (called the Ol' Timer) and then the pleasure saddle I got from the tack store going out of business. I really like both of them, but the Ol' Timer IS higher quality.

Anyway, look it over and if you think it will fit you and your horse there isn't much downside. You could probably get your money back out of it even used. It looks like a lovely set.

I have seen quite a few Saddle Kings out of Texas, they are decent Saddles, I think 350.00 is a fair price for all you listed, the Saddle looks well taken care of.

May all your Trails be happy and safe ones

Thanks! I will probably take a look at it next weekend if they haven't already sold it. In a perfect world, it might fit both my 15.2 Paint and my 14.2 Mustang (he's a bit round right now). It's not always easy to find the round skirt without buying new and my Mustang has such a short back that the rounded skirt will fit him better and be lighter for me to handle. :). @Kevin.... I will definitely save my pennies because you do make a rounded skirted trail saddle in black that I like. :)
