2 front easy boots

Hey all I posted a thread about my horse being tender on her front foot. I bought easy boots for her front feet. Has anyone tried just doing the front feet and leaving her back feet bare?? Any suggestions?

It is common to use boots or shoes in the front. Being shod in the front is called pasture shod. Because the horse carries 60 to 65 % of its entire weight on the front many beleive that the horse wears out its front feet more often. I have had horses pasture shot or I have booted in the front only because it was thier front feet that tended to be a bit tender or what have you. I have used Easy boots (with the gators.....which I recommend) with great success. Some gaiting problems can be helped byt shoeing the front and leaving the rear free from shoes.

We did front easy boots only for one of our horses with tender feet. It worked well but we did wind up getting a pair for the back eventually due to some other issues. I know a few people that do fronts only.
