Air Ride Saddle Pads

Trying to search for information about air ride saddle pads. Has anyone used one and what is your opinion of them? I recently has surgery to my pelvic bone and I'm looking for something that might help cushion in any way. Any Suggestions?

I'm not sure how much any sort of pad will help you as a rider. My understanding is that they're there to lessen and diffuse impact on the horse. I think it's mostly rider balance, saddle quality, and the horse's gaits that make things easier on the rider.

If this is an ongoing issue, you may consider riding gaited horses as they are known for being smoother and lower impact.

Finally, I'm not sure how much it would help, but if you need a pad to help YOU, maybe try a gel saddle seat cover?

The Professional's Choice Air Ride pads? I looked into purchasing one at a local tack store, and they felt thin and hard. I really had to really push to compress it any--I like pads that are a bit softer than that.

If you are looking for something that would make riding more comfortable for you, you might want to look into gel seat covers for saddles. We bought one for a bicycle, and it is awesome!

AWESOME pads! But as was stated - for the horse - not the rider!

Thanks for the suggestions! While I cannot yet trade my quarter horses in for a gaited horse, I will look into the gel saddle seat covers. :) I'd do anything to be able to get back on the horses! Riding keeps me sane and its going on five months since I've been able to ride.
