All Purpose Galloping Boots

Hello All,

I bought these boots for my girl for the front legs. They are pretty inexpensive, just to keep her from snagging her inside front ankle with her opposite foots shoe nails. She doesn't clip with the back feet, just now and then with the opposite front. Anyway, this solved my problem.

Here's my question: Can I use the same boots on the hind legs? I contacted Dover and the person who responded to my email said he uses the boots himself and they can be used front or back, with obviously needing a size larger for the hind legs. I just want the same boots on the back for the look. I'm a little vain like that.

I did check out hind boots and the ones they have at my local saddlery shop are like 3 times the cost of these and the only difference is they are a little longer with four straps instead of three.

Opinions please.

Hello Sdellin!

Most people who use splints on the front, use fetlock boots on the back.

Since you just want her ankles to be protected, these are perfect for the back legs.

Yup, I've used the same boots on front and hind legs; just a size up, like the Dover rep said.

MB is right. You can use on all 4, just go with size up for the back. I use splint boots on all 4 legs (M on front, L on back) when I do jumping (flat - just fronts).
