amazingly found a saddle that fits. I think

After a long hard search, I sort of gave up and bought this used no name cheapo dressage saddle off ebay for 115 dollars.... well guess what?! IT FIT PONY!! I was so amazed. It's amw and just a little cutback. I was astonished. It is kind of beat up , but I oiled it yesterday, so maybe it is a little prettier today..I wish I had the money to just have stubben out and make him a dressage saddle but oh well. -_-

I'm going to ride in it later to see if it "really" fits.

So no flashy fancy saddle, but it fits, I just wish it wasn't beat up.

I second that - we need pics!

Sidenote - I bought my stubben off ebay for $420 and I love it. You can get lucky there sometimes

I want a Tristan DL 17" 31.5-32 cm. I've been lurking....

If it will stop raining I will actually go try it out.. It's really not beautiful(which means its okay looking, just got cheapo leather) has stirrup leather rubbing and a gross scuff on the cantle.. but it will do. I wish I lived in an area where dressage was popular, but it's mostly western and finding used tack is pretty scary. But I'm always checking in Birmingham, I just haven't found "the one"...

This is a Romanus... so close, but not exactly what I want. I like the classic-ness of the Tristan..

How does the seat run in the juventus? I've read the 17 is pretty snug since it's made for children.

Ok here it is... in all of it's... well here it is.
3 fingers ungirthed 2 when girthed. Doesn't come off back when girthed. Gullet doesn't touch spine... no bucking when I walked and trotted around...
Pony wouldn't sit still... and that is his don't take my picture face...

And then that's the what are you doing down there look.

Not exactly the best pictures to critique fit with, but it doesn't look too bad. Perhaps a bit more of a banana shape to the tree than you may really need (again I can't clearly see the shape of your horse's back with the saddle pad in the way) as the panels are coming off his back towards the cantle.

As far as the juventus - idk that i'm going to be the best judge. My kieffer is a 16.5" and the juventus is a 17" and to me I feel the juventus is quite roomy. Of course... .5" isn't that big of a difference but I sure noticed it. I will say, I am enjoying the shorter flap for my leg as well. :)

Please disregard the ridiculous faces:

I wasn't really asking for a critique... More of just a yay. It is a little too curved. I but I've tried a wintec and a collegiate that were too straight and the county I tried was tooo curved.. I'll strap it on him without the pad.
This ones flap hits like a hand above my ankle bone.. I think my leg cues would be so much better with a short flap.
I was actually looking at a juventis before. But I wasn't sure so I didn't buy it when I had the chance
