If she rides good in it I dont see a problem with it, but in all honesty I think a curb mouth piece is a better option. Most people think of curbs as being harsh, I think there just confusing to a horse that isnt finished or ready for the bit. I think it would definatly be a good transition bit to get her used to lateral movment with a shanked bit. I think the most impotant thing is to pick what your horse rides well in. I know of cow horses that are never taken out a a argentine. So really its personal preferance, and what you horse likes.
