Question Anyone ever tried an all aluminum bit?

Do they wear out faster? Are there any other pros/cons?

I don't like them. They wear out quickly, are usually low quality, and many horses don't like the taste.

I have one that has aluminum sides, but a stainless steel mouth. Makes for a light bit that wears better. It's a "Quick Bit" brand. Aluminum mouth pieces tend to wear out and they often dry out the horse's mouth.

I don't know many pros, though Foxtrotter people seem to love them. Um, they're lightweight?

But they DO dry out the mouth. They will get chewed up badly by a mouthy horse. And there's some speculation that aluminum may be toxic....
