Ariat Close Contact Chaps

What are your opinions on Ariat Close Contact Chaps? I've read a few reviews, and the general consensus seems to be that they're great quality, but I've also read a few that complain of the zipper breaking. My friend had the same kind, and also said the zipper broke.
I found a pair for $45 online, and I'm trying them out right now, so your experience with them would be appreciated.

I've had mine since November and they're great.

I like leather chaps better than suede because I find the suede wears down and makes them slippery. But leather can't really wear down so they stay 'sticky'.

The only bad experience I've had with them was because of my fault. I left them out in the sun and heat in my sunroom and they must have shrunk two sizes. They've stretched out, but the zipper still falls down on them while I'm riding :/

$45! Wow! Mine were $200 and I love them, I've had no troubles with the zips or anything but I've only had them for a month or so.

Best thing I've ever bought so far, easy to clean, I cleaned and left them in the sun and they are so supple and comfy. I'd say go for it!
