Aussie saddle cinches?

My wife just bought an Aussie saddle but we can't seem to find anywhere that carries the cinches. We thought an English would work but one of the straps is wider than the buckles. Are the buckles suppose to be different sized?

Also, would measuring for the cinch be different than for an English saddle? (In case we have to order one online)

My English jump saddle uses a 44" girth. The AP model uses a 46". My DownUnder saddle uses a 30" Australlian girth. I'd call DownUnder, explain whatever cinch/girth & saddle setup you have been using, and ask them.

Yes the buckles are different sizes. I think the aussie is a 1.5in where a normal english is only 1in. I ended up having to order one online.

Easiest way to measure is take your current english girth and hold it up on each side and see if you have to take away inches or add them. Or just take a tape measure with the saddle on and measure from each side where it should sit. They fit more like a dressage girth.

BSMS I think the downunder saddles are only 1in straps unless otherwise ordered. But some of the other brands are different sizes.

Most of the DownUnder saddles come with 1 1/4 inch straps on the girth. They don't work with English girths.

Ok it was 1.25in not 1.5 lol. But some of their girths are 1in and some 1.25 but with different brands of aussies they will actually have two billet straps and one is 1in and one is 1.25in. Thought I was going crazy when I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get my dressage girth on lol. I'm pretty sure that downunder has them both the same size but for some reason other brands don't.

Edit: Looks like tha downunder endurance girths are 1in but all else are 1.25. Which makes sense because I was looking at their endurance models and they had standard 1in billets.

Thanks bsms. That helps. We'll probably be ordering one from them once spring finally gets here.
