Australian Saddles

I have noticed that several people on the board ride in Australian saddles. I recently purchased one at an auction that I have been in once and loved, when I was trying it on my QH. But, I do need a longer cinch for it so am going to take the one that is on it to our local tack shop and see if he can't get me one.

What do you like about them? The one I have is a Bushmaster, seems all the fittings and do dads are in brass, it is just a really nice saddle. What do you not like about them? Anything I should be aware of?

I have a Wintec synthetic and I love it. It has improved my balance and I feel way more secure, and infinately more comfortable. I don't think I will ever go back to a western saddle.

I know a couple people that have had problems with them slipping back when going up steep hills but I myself have not had that problem.

My first saddle was a Aussie and I loved it, I felt very secure in that saddle. I only switched because the one I had was very heavy and I dreaded dragging it out.

I have 2 choices a Western Wintec or an Aussie
