Question Bareback saddles??

I got a new pony about a week ago and havent bought a saddle yet for her. I thought that I could just ride her bareback but I have almost fallen a coulpe times when she was troting. I don't know if I should get a bareback saddle or a regular saddle? I am not going to be showing her so I wont need the saddle for that. Please help me decide!!

I think you should get a saddle, at least until you get some more hours or lessons and are a better rider. Once you can focus a little less on controlling the pony and staying on you can try more bareback and refining your seat.

Lessons if you can don't hurt.

You could purchase a bareback pad or treeless saddle, but I think you'll get a lot of use out of the regular saddle. Just my opinion. Maybe you could try saddles out (some stores do trial periods) or ask some folks if you can borrow theirs if they don't use it a lot?

God bless, englishaqh (:
