barrel racing tack??

hey I just found a tack set(blue briddle, reins, and breast plate) on ebay and I already bid on it. But it was nylon, and I just want to know if Nylon would be comfertble for barrel racing my horse? Would it rub? Oh and I can't get a pic on here but, what I said explains it!!!!

If it's well made, I don't think it makes much of a difference. Lots of barrel racers have switched to nylon because it doesn't rot or break as easily.

I'm just not a fan of nylon. But that's a personal thing. I like traditional leather and nylon tends to get stiff depending on how it is made. Some nylon materials are better than others.

I don't have a problem with nylon, I just like leather more. That's just me though

As with all tack, there is better quality and then there is the cheap stuff.

Overall though, Nylon should be fine.

Nylon is cheap, Leather is best especially if your racing! You don't want to take a risk.

There is good quality nylon and poor quality leather. Whatever you get make sure it is good quality and well maintained. =)

when I was looking for my barrel racing equipment. I actually ordered a pink nylon breast collar with neoprene on the inside so it probably wont rub bad. I also bought a pink nylon bridle to match. When I was searching for it I just made sure the clips weren't too small and crappy.
