Bates Saddle...any opinions?

I just took a Bates Caprilli Close Contact saddle out on trial...the one with the easy-change gullet system and the cair panels.
Does anyone have one of these or has ever ridden in one?

I know Bates is a new company, but the saddle is so comfortable and fit me well in the store. I am going to be eventing by the way, but will probably do some hunter classes as well.

Is it a good saddle??
Will pay $1700 new for it if it works out

Thanks!

Bates makes a great saddle! I don't think I've heard any complaints actually... in fact, I have a good friend who works at a tack shop and ridden in every saddle imaginable. She ended up choosing a Bates Caprilli (despite the incredible discount she could get on higher end saddles). She loves it!

Bates make great saddles. I didnt even know you could by them in America!! They are excellent and $1700, tht is an excellent price. That saddle would go for close to 3 grand here!!

If you are thinking about using it to event tho, you might like the Wintec close contact jumping or wintec pro jumping. They are made by bates, only they are synthetic. The close contact is the same saddle as the Bates Caprilli jumping saddle
