Best Bareback Pad for Horse with Achy Back

Hello all,
I have a 17 y.o. Saddlebred who sometimes can get an achy back-- his back is not "bad," per se, but I just don't want him to be uncomfortable. I love to ride bareback and want to find the best bareback pad for the horse's comfort, rather than my own (personally, I prefer no pad at all, but I don't want to risk making him uncomfortable).

Additionally, any advice people have on a comfy, supportive saddle pad for a horse would be highly appreciated.

Thanks!

Michayla

Have you had his back checked out? A horse should not just get an achy back for no reason.

I won't be able to suggest a certain brand or model, but I've gone through quite a lot of reviews and from those I can advise you not to go for the cheap ones - they usually make just one or a few pressure points on the horse's back (if they are with stirrups), and it's worse for his health than riding without a pad at all.
