Best leather western saddle brands?

Today my coach's western saddle I've been riding in was sold, which really disappointed me because it was the perfect saddle.. fit both Rowdy and Rosie, great seat size, super comfortable, the leather was so soft and pliable, and it was just all around perfect. I had so badly wanted to buy it but I wish I could have afforded it!

So now the search for a western saddle begins! I want something comfortable (duh), fairly lightweight, comes in a 15.5" seat, pretty enough to show in, and I'll have to see what size bars I'll need. I'm not too picky about colour or the amount of silver, but I really love a dark oil with a little bit of silver. My price range isn't huge, i'd like to stay under $900.

I already know that Circle Y, Billy Cook, Simco (the saddle I rode in was a Simco, and I LOVED it!), etc, are good leather brands, does anyone have another one that they'd like to suggest?

You should be able to find a Simco-perhaps on eBay, horse clicks or Tacktrader. If you know that you like it, and it fits your horse, why not? Just a really quick search I came up with this:

Special Run 15.5 inch Simco Trail Saddle for sale in Rowan, Kentucky :: HorseClicks

You can find pretty good deals on good quality used saddles on Ebay and other sites like that.

I'd also like to add another vote for Corriente. I've got one of theirs and I know a lot of others folks who also have them and they're great saddles. I'm not sure how much their show type saddles would cost but it probably wouldn't hurt to call and ask.

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog:
