What is the best leather oil to use to restore softness and prevent cracking?

And how do you clean suede on a saddle?

Simply put, you can't use leather oil on suede. It'll ruin it.

There are cleaners made specifically for suede. Get one of those.

As for which leather oil is 'best', that's up to personal preference. They all do a pretty good job of keeping leather supple.

I use baking soda or corn starch. I rub it in a bit with my hand and let it sit then vacuum. I prefer baking soda as it has less "pouff". I may use a suede brush a little before vacuuming. You can try a gum rubber eraser, the tan colored cube and lightly rub it on the suede.

Leather New is what I have been using for years, been happy with it.
I have used Murphy Oil Soap as well in a pinch.
As far as suede, a stiff brush to bring the nap up and get the dirt out. I think there is some suede cleaners out there...."Leather Therapy" ...I think, I haven't had a suede seated saddle for years.
