Bit advice needed please

Hi, I'm going to buy a new bit & need some advice on which one sounds most suitable. The horse is an Arab X & will be brought back into work after an extended holiday. He's a good listener & I want something soft & smooth from the start.

I bought a KK oval link loose ring snaffle, but am really not too sure about the loose ring part.

I was thinking about getting a Neue Schule, but don't know much about them or anyone that's used one

Or this one

Or just a plain oval link eggbutt?

Also please forgive my ignorance & laziness... But is a Bradoon size for any horses in particular?

a Bridoon is used in a double bridle, like in dressage, and thus is usually thinner than a typical snaffle.

I love the KK ultra loose ring. Love it.

keep in mind that Arabs often have low palates, so don't get a super thick one thinking it's nicer for her. She'll be "gagging" on it all the time.

I used to have a KK Ultra loose ring for the horse that I leased, but it was too big for the horse that I bought. So, when I bought my horse I borrowed a different loose ring oval link from my trainer for a little while, but found that it was pinching my horse's lips- not enough that I noticed him avoiding it or acting up, but he has pink skin and I noticed the corners of his mouth being a bit red after riding. It could have done the same thing to a dark skinned horse and I never would have noticed.

I ended up getting a KK Ultra 2-type, which is the same mouthpiece, but with a different cheekpiece that combines loose ring and eggbutt. No more redness after riding

I think any of the bits you linked to would work fine. You might want to see if you can borrow a single jointed snaffle to try on her before buying one if you're not sure how she'll go in it as compared to the oval link.

Thanks for the info Tinyliny :)

And that bit looks pretty good Verona. I wonder if I could find one in Australia? If not I might just buy online...

Also, he's alright in the oval link, I just wasnt sure about the loose ring part
