BIT EXCHANGE

At my old barn we did some thing called the bit exchange, where if some one had a bit that they didn't use any more due sell of a horse, we would list it on a board on what kind of bit it was and what kind of bit that person was looking for in order to exchange it, it work out really well in the end, just woundering if any other barns did that?
