Bits and bitless for tbs

Hey all,
I'm going to buy an ottb and I was wondering if you could give me your opinion on bits? I'm looking at myler snaffles, loose ring snaffles, and loose ring french links. Does anyone have an opinion on those bits, or give me more information on the pros and cons of each? I've also been thinking of starting in a bitless bridle when I start riding after I get him from the tracks. I do need the bit for showing but I was wondering if anyone had started a horse with a bitless then moved to a soft bit, and how it worked for them?
