This blanket??

I am really considering blanketing my girl this winter and am reading many posts on blanketing. Been learning a ton too, however, still have questions, lol.
I have started looking at blankets and come across this one.
Saddles Tack Horse Supplies - ChickSaddlery.com Saxon 1200 Denier Standard Neck Lite 2-Tone Sheet <>
I wanted something light for the 55*F to 36*F weather and was wondering if this would be sufficient or not or even too much for those temps?
Then I found this one for the colder temps...
Saddles Tack Horse Supplies - ChickSaddlery.com Weatherbeeta Saxon 1200 Denier Standard Neck Medium <>
I plan on getting two of each of them just in case one gets damaged and can not be worn so she won't go without for any period of time.
I appreciate any advice or suggestions! Thanks

I love Saxon, have two blankets already. I have the 1200d 300g winter blanket and then I have the 600d 150g medium weight.

I wouldn't put a sheet on above 40 unless it's raining or extremely windy or the sorts.

My mare gets her medium weight if its between 40-50 and raining or below 40 at night without rain. Below 20 she gets the heavy weight.

So then the silly question, a 150 polyfill would probably be too warm for 55*F?

Yes much too warm. You shouldn't even need a sheet.

Saxons are made by weatherbeeta so should be good blankets, however, they do not have a large drop on them, so if your horse is deep through his body/girth or is a stockier built (I have a Paint and a QH, both are) this may not have enough drop/coverage. My mare had one and her belly hung out the bottom!

Some places have been having great deals on the closeout colors of Weatherbeetas (one of my favorite blankets) one of them is Rod's, and Tack of the Day has had it featured a couple times lately too.
