Blanket Brand Sizing

I know that, like human clothes, horse "clothes" sizes tend to run a bit different by brand. My boy has an 81" blanket that he came with, and it hangs off his hind-end, and because of the pressure that exerts, when he wore it, it rubbed his fur on his chest.

I've never had to fit a blanket until this horse... all of my blankets have been used, and I just "eyeballed" the fit on the horse it came from (good visualizing capacity, I guess).

So, I need help: Please share with me your blanket experiences, and which brands tend to run "true to size", "large", or "small". Thank you!!!

Also - my horse, a Saddlebred, is tall and lanky - narrow chest, long neck, etc... any suggestions based on this? I guess I'm just considering how much rubbing will happen simply because he wouldn't fill out the sides of his blanket, haha. My other horse is a large, hefty quarter-horse and fitting a blanket on him isn't a problem, haha.

Not sure if UK info is any use but I've tended to have middleweight horses and always found Horsewear (Rambo) a decent size but tight across the front, Masta the same but long-fronted and Weatherbeeta on the small side. Generally, I've found the more you pay (Horsewear, Fal) the better both fit and longevity.
