Blanket buying help

I an wanting to get a blanket to have for my horse this winter for the really cold and wet days. I want a medium weight turnout. Any suggestions on brands? Also I measured him for a blanket and I got 78", and he's 15.3 hands. Does this sound right? Because according to some blanket sizing guides he should be like 16.2 according to his length.

What points did you measure? Is he a chunky or long horse?

I'm not sure if these brands sell overseas or just in Australia, but I love WeatherBeeta. Or, I recently purchased a new waterproof and warm Wrangler rug - though, it was far from cost efficient. But, very worth the extra money I spent on it.

He is pretty long I would say.
Also I would like to try to not spend much over $100.

Look online for blankets then look at their sizing guide, it will tell you how to measure. A 78 doesn't sound overly large for a horse that is actually 15.3. My arab is a 69 and she is only 14.1.

Look at Saxon they are made by weatherbeeta but cheaper. They are roughly $80 for a medium weight, depends if you hit a sale or not. Blankets have gone up a tremendous amount this year. I recommend against the brand tough-1, their reviews are horrible and they usually are not waterproof.

I bought an Everest which is by Weatherbeeta. I got a heavyweight from Chicks for under $80 last year. Zero problems with it.

Saddles Tack Horse Supplies - Weatherbeeta Saxon 1200D Standard Neck Heavy Blanket <>

Here you go. Comes in a 78 now. This site is good for sales but because it's kind of like a clearance site they don't always have as many options as a site where you pay regular price so you have to dig around. And you rarely get to choose color with the size and style you want.
