Bridle Buttons?

I was given a bunch of 'bridle buttons' today. They are vintage and were collected by my friend's Grandmother. They look like little fancy large buttons with inlaid pictures that you put on your horses bridle on the cheek pieces right under the brow band. I had never heard of them or seen them before. Has anyone else ever heard of these? I will take a picture Wednesday to show you.

Couldn't see your link. But I googled them.....yep, those are them! They ARE really cool. I put them on my horse bridle earlier this evening. I never heard of them!! Very unique and special. I love vintage things.

Yes, I wish I had some, they are very unique. Too bad no one makes them anymore, it would be cool to have a picture of your own horse in one of them.

Those were popular in the 50's and early 60's then began a gradual decline. The were often referred to as bridle rosettes. My catalog from about 1963 has them listed for $1.95 pr.

I like those! Kind of pretty.

Seems like I remember TWH and ASB riders having those on their old bridles years ago.

Somewhere I have an old set of round ones with a brown horse's head against a med. Green background. I've never seen a flat square one.
