Bridle and saddle colour for new mare?

So, this is my new Dutch WB/TB mare. I bought her as is... I.e, NOTHING comes with her. So, I am buying her new bridle and saddle, but I'm not sure if I want black or a shade of brown on her. Personally, I think she would look better in a black saddle, but I am having a hard time finding a black figure-eight bridle at any of my local-ish tack stores... They're all havana, nut, chestnut etc. Also, I have never actually seen a hunter/jumper compete in a black figure-eight... maybe they're "out of fashion"? Let me know what you think, please!

I prefer the black, it just seems to show up better on the horse.

If you're going to show in anything otter than dressage go with a dark brown - not black.

Agreed, dark brown for anything except dressage.

OP, you didn't really expect tack to come with the horse, did you? That's not usually part of the deal. Most times, you're lucky if you get a ratty old halter and lead line.

Thanks, I think I'll try the havana... it's my favorite shade of brown on her, judging by the pictures. ;)

Personally I prefer to use black tack, there's only one shade of black, so everything matches!
