Bridle size

Do you think a cob sized bridle would fit a 13.2 hh pony?

Probably, It all just depends on the size of the pony's head. My quarter horse wears a cob size bridle (she's about 14 hands), but she's got a pretty small head and I could probably even get away with using a pony size on her. I've also seen shorter horses with big heads that needed a full size bridle.

Do you know what size halter the pony wears? That's a good way to get a rough idea. I don't know a system of measuring for bridles other than trial and error. If you know someone with a cob size bridle you might ask to borrow it and see if it fits.

Actually it's not for me. I'm trying to sell a bridle and someone emailed me wondering if it would fit their pony.

We ride our 12hh loan pony in a cob size bridle, as the pony size was too small for him. But it was bitless, so I guess that makes a bit of a difference. You could measure it, and give them the measurements though, that would make sure that it would fit their pony :)
