Angry Broke my fender on my barrel saddle!!!!!!

Totally raged right now. Stupid, totally rude, no mannered horse, that wasn't even my own tried to scratch the saddle off on a corner and would no move no matter how much I screamed and hit her on her shoulder. She stood and through her weight into the saddle and ripped the fender at the top where it attaches to the other strap (not sure what its called). Just curious if anyone knows what is going to have to take place. I called a saddlery (well known for good custom mades) and I'm just waiting for a reply. But would it be better off to get him to replace whole fender and if he does can he put the same kind of "gear" that adjusts the stirrups. I just never had to have a saddle fixed before.

Don't worry, that is a pretty easy fix and I have done it before on several of my own saddles. If the fender is a fairly common style with fairly common tooling, then it will be very easy. Depending on the location of the tear, the saddler may just decide to rivet it back together as opposed to replacing the whole thing.

That is a very common thing to happen and any saddler should have no problem fixing it. My old roping saddle got the entire fender/leather ripped in two and yanked off by a horse in the roundpen. 2 copper rivets later you can't even tell it happened unless you pick the skirt up and look underneath up by the tree.
