Butterfly lozenge bit?

I was wondering what the difference is between a butterfly lozenge bit (like this one) and an eggbutt lozenge snaffle (like this one)?

I've never even heard of the sort, so I'm subbing to find out.

The butterfly bit is a driving bit. The eggbutt is a riding bit. The mouthpieces are basically the same.
Additionally, the butterfly bit is a leverage bit, and the eggbutt is a snaffle.

Ah, okay. So is the butterfly bit a little stronger than the eggbutt? When training a horse (to drive) would the butterfly bit be a little too advanced as a first bit?

No, there is no reason not to use the butterfly, where you have the option of making it direct rein(top) or leverage(bottom). Only your hands to the horse's mouth can decide that!
